The System parrot is the first bird to appear in minifigure-based sets. There are two main molds. The old mold comes in more than 100 sets, while the new one can be found in 25 of them. The new mold is still being released in various themes.

The Minecraft parrot also deserves a mention. With three different color variations, it makes a nice addition to the parrot family, even though it’s a bit blocky.

1989-2016: Released in 9 different colors, including a printed one.
2009: A marbled version is released featuring red and green as the base colors.
2016: Mold changed to have a wider beak and tail, showing two feet instead of one, and softer features. This mold has three solid colors, used as accessories, and three marbled colors, used as animals. All marbled versions show different color distribution.
2019: The Minecraft parrot is released in red.
2025: A new parrot figure is released, independent of the previous ones, to represent a specific species.
2025: Lime and medium azure Minecraft parrots appear in a single set.
